I have an i5-2500 and a GTX 460. My CPU average percent is about 5% as I am making this and my CPU temperature is 84 Fahrenheit or 29 Celsius, My GPU temperature is at about 80 Fahrenheit or 27 Celsius. when I launch TF2 (an example of a higher temperature program) the GPU temperature is at 120 Fahrenheit or 49 Celsius. My CPU was at about 112 Fahrenheit or 45 Celsius.

I know the fermi architecture is very hot, but are these temps normal? I just replaced my cpu's thermal paste just in case. My CPU cooler is a stock dell cooler that looks like this:

My GTX 460 is just the reference design.

Please don't argue with me, I am just trying to help, or be helped. (we are all humans right?)

. anything up to about 80 is fine

80 Celsius? that is 176 Fahrenheit! are you sure? or when you said 80 I thought Celsius, because I assume you are being consistent, but 176 Fahrenheit seems VERY hot for a CPU, but then again I don't know that much when it comes to thermals, but then again that is why I posted this.

As long as it's under 70C at load, you're fine.  Lower is better, but it won't kill anything to have it running in the 60's.

Make sure to quote or tag me (@JoostinOnline) or I won't see your response!

Your temps are very good considering you are using stock cooler for CPU. PC temps are always expressed in Celsius. Actually everything other than optical and hard drives physical size and monitor size are in metric units.

Hot temps are over 80C and danger is over 90C. Except if you would have AMD FX CPUs, then hot would be 65C.
