New amd cards

I just bought a 7870 for $230 (-$20 rebate) and im wondering should i return it and wait for the next gen GPU's or not. Will i get a better bang for my buck? will they be the same price, and if not will $230 on a 8xxx or 7xx gpu get me more?

Keep your 7870, the 8000 series are not set to be released until the end of the year.

Technology is constantly changing, as soon as you buy something, something else will be out. Thats the way it is and the best way to do things is to just buy when you need the upgrade and if something that is WAY more awesome comes out you can what you bought and buy the new thing.

I don't see a reason why would you return it. I mean yes the new generation will be faster like every new generation. The 7870 is a amazing card (I have one too). Use it till the new generation is on the market for a while and the price drops and then if your 7870 is not good anymore for you just buy the new generation.

However if you have already filled the mail in rebate, you will not be able to return the card as far as I'm aware.

i have a xfx 7870 double dissipation, if i overclock that to 1300MHz will the tahiti LE still beat it? i would use the same memory clock as the LE?
