Dual monitors question.

I've been running single for my whole life due to the fact i've never needed one.
BUT.

I just got a new one and i have to ask because i've ran over some slight problems.

So i've this fairly old PC with an 750TI it has hdmi ports and dvi-i and dvi so i have this older model (monitor) which only has VGA and so i grapped a connector from dvi to VGA and it's running fine.

Then i got into my main monitor which has a hdmi port and plugged the hdmi port in the gpu and the monitor isn't working.
The only monitor working is the VGA one.

Fast forward 30 mins of work and (because i'm not an expert and forgot that google exists at all) knew that i had to go to windows and press "extend the monitors volaaaa" and it turned on. The second one. The one with the hdmi port.

Then i closed my PC and opend it up again, To be suprised by the fact that the VGA monitor is the only monitor which is on while bios and thhrough entring to windows then the other monitor (the one with the hdmi port) would open up.

I've made the hdmi monitor my main in windows but it's still says it's the second one though the task bar is on it.
And the VGA monitor is the only one which opens for BIOS.
My question is does the GPU prioritize ports and does it do it by the order of plugging ?

Sorry for my ignorance but i'm VERY new to the multi monitor digle wigle.

Thanks in advance.

From what I've seen, it's up to the card to determine which port (if only 1) will be used for the BIOS screen.

Main System: Phobos

Secondary System: York

Intel Core i7-2600 (4C/8T), ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3, 16GB GEIL Enhance Corsa DDR3 1600MHz, Zotac GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB, 240GB ADATA Ultimate SU650, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

It's not prioritizing ports in terms of how much GPU power they get. It just orders them  and as far as I know it's arbitrary, shouldn't effect anything.

Desktop: i9 11900k, 32GB DDR4, 4060 Ti 8GB 🙂

Is there is anyway i can edit/customize that ?

No. It doesn't matter though.

Yes, but although i've set my main monitor in windows some times when i'm opening the windows browser (my computer) it would open on the other monitor. Is that okay ?

Just move the window to the monitor you want, and it "should" open there next time.

Yes? I mean a windows opening on another monitor wont effect performance. I think a window like Windows Explorer will open on the monitor it was on last.

Though i was not talking about performance but i didn't know that windows like to do that.

Thanks very much guys :)
