Just upgraded to this board and currently have two GTX 780's in SLI in the top two blue PCIe slots as recommended by the manual. They are considerably closer together then my previous ASRock board which didn't support quad SLI. The top 780 gets extremely hot and extremely noisey, idling at 47C and letting it go to 90C while playing Far Cry 3 for all of 15 minutes before closing the game. The bottom card sits at 32C and tops out at 70ish. I've tried switching them to see if it was the GPU, which was a longshot and obviously didn't fix anything. I put a fan on the side which didn't very little.

I've tried moving the 2nd GPU down to the 3rd blue PCIe slot which would fix the problem. I was unable to get that working after reinstalling the drivers and poking around in the BIOS for any sort of option and the manual as far as I could tell makes no mention of alternate PCIe configurations.

Was wondering if anybody had dealt with this before and how they fixed it.  I have http://bit.ly/1byIjx5 that GPU which probably doesn't help with that cooler on it.

Currently typing with two cards in the first and third slot for that precise reason, without any problems. I also have a soundcard in the bottom slot.

What do you mean by "unable to get that working"? No POST? Card not recognized?

When I moved it down to the third slot the card wasn't recognized. After looking in the BIOS and reinstalling the drivers it only recognized one 780, posts and everything just fine. But I see from what you said and your signature you were able to get it to work! I have a fibre channel card in my very bottom slot.

I love your speakers! B&W MM-1's are fantastic.
