My friends computer that I recently built for him is not working for some currently unknown reason. What I do know is that the 24 Pin cable from the PSU is stuck in the mother baord. Does anyone know how I could fix this?

Specs:

Intel i5-3570K (Not Overclocked)

MSI Z77 G-43 Motherboard

8 GB Kingston Hyper-X 1600MHz RAM

PNY Nvidia GTX 670 (Very Slightly Overclocked)

WD 1 TB Black HDD

Corsair TX 650 Watt PSU

Hit the gym. Then come back and tear the 24pin a new one :P

More serious answer: Try using a plier to keep the clip detached on the 24 pin. There are probably one or more pins that are jammed into the 24 pin connector on the motherboard. Try to find out which ones are jammed, and see if you can use tweezers or something to unjam them.

How can I use tweezers if I can't even move it to see the pins?

Try pressing on the clip and wiggling it to see if it moves. Don't force it because you will break your motherboard/connector if you force it.

did you put it in the right way in the first place?

or do you recall it being difficult to insert the 24 pin?
