I just borrowed an external WD My Passport Ultra from my dad and I'm wondering why it's not showing up under file explorer. Any ideas?

1st - does windows give you the connection sound when you plug it in?

2nd - does it show in device manager without any warnings

3rd - is he a windows, mac, or linux user (drive could be in foreign format)

4th - Check Drive Management to see if it is showing up, listing partitions, and healthy.
