Just never work on 3.1 Ghz or 3.4 like it should in turbo mod. Always on 2893 Mhz.

Try resetting the BIOS back to the original settings by shutting the PC off, removing power, and removing the CMOS battery. If you don't want to do that, you can try loading optimized defaults instead within the BIOS.

Was the second screenshot under a full load? And what application were you using in the second screenshot? Using High Performance in Windows will prevent the CPU from clocking down, so if you want it to do that under idle conditions, use the Balanced setting.

In order for the CPU to reduce clocks at idle, Windows must be set to Balanced.

What application are you using to test the CPU in the second screenshot?

Can you download Cinebench and run that while monitoring clocks?

You shouldn't have to update your BIOS in order to use the GTX 1050.
