No don't install any of the crap from the CD.

Just go to windows disk management in the administrative tools and make a new simple volume.

Hello, just installed a new 850 EVO into my laptop as a second drive (it had a free 2.5 inch slot)

i plugged it in, restarted windows, checked for updates, none

task manager shows the drive as Disk 0 and info is correct

however, file explorer doesnt show the drive

the drive came with a CD with some magician software on it, is this a necessity for the drive to work?

the instructions say that that is for like data migration or something, but im not doing that, im just adding a second drive.

when i installed additional drives in the past, i plugged them in, and they worked. why isnt this one?

thanks

EDIT: im dumb and just forgot i had to format it.

i wont install their bloatware thanks
