No, digital signals aren't prone to varying quality like analogue signals are. Image quality should be exactly the same, provided the outputs, inputs and adaptor all support whatever resolution and frame rate you're using.

Also for the most part with digital, either you get the signal or you don't. So if there is any issues with using the adapter or cable, the display will appear to not get a signal.
