Laptop Overclock Gpu Question

Today I found out that I can Overclock my 7690m laptop graphics card.

It was originally at 600 core clock and 800 Memory clock and i usually get 45-50 Celsius idle and 65-70 when gaming (Room temp usually at 23 Celsius)

I overclock it to 725 core and 900 memory and now i have 48-53 at idle and 70-75 when gaming (played BF3 at low in 720p with a 35 fps limit)

hadn't crashed yet fps went up from 45-50 avg. to 55-60 avg.

Have the latest 13.3 beta drivers.

CPU : i5 2450m @2.5GHz

Ram : 6 Gig

My questions:

Is 75 Celsius too high for a laptop gpu?

Is the 50-55 Celsius temp normal at idle?

Should i keep the overclock or go back to 600/800?

Does the overclock revert back to 600/800 when I quit MSI Afterburner?

Test stability with some torture tests. If you don't mind frying your balls off if you are playing on your lap, if it is stable, its probably good to go.

1. I have a friend with an acer m3 ultrabook equipped with a gt640m graphics card. His gpu hits about 80 degrees on stock clocks so i think 75 degrees should be fine.

2. Shouldn't the dedicated gpu turn off when its idling anyway? (AMD switchable graphics)

3. I'd keep the overclock. Personally i have a laptop that i've overclocked (7670m) and its almost day and night difference in terms of performance.

4. no. if u restart your laptop it will reset the clocks unless u check the "apply ocerclocking at startup" checkbox

additionally you might want to find a way to raise the bottom of your laptop to give it a bit more breathing room or even go for a laptop cooler for best results.

yea its a laptop but i simply use it as a monitor has wired mouse and keyboard and a computer stand
