3 Way 7850's or R9 290???

Nathantech

Christmas is around the corner and I've been looking to upgrade my gpu, the R9 290 looked like a great buy to play games like battlefield 4 and crysis at 1080p. At the moment I run a HD 7850 V2 top edition gpu and for the same price as a R9 290 I could buy 2 more 7850's. Now should I just buy the R9 290, Buy 1 more 7850 or 2 7850's? Keep in mind next year I plan on buying a 2560x1440p monitor. Btw I am running a 1000w power supply so will that be enough? Thanks all, - Nathan

1000w is enough.

Get the 290 though.

You'd be quite limited by the 7850's vram.

290

Single card is always better then crossfire/SLI, I'd say just wait for the aftermarket coolers. They should arrive soon but that's all we know so far.

Wow thanks all for the quick response! I guess I'll pick up the R9 290 then, but does anyone know when the aftermarket versions will be released? And as for selling it how could I go about that? As in we're do I sell it :P. also do you have any cool suggestions for anything else to pick up in the $100-150 price range. Thanks, -Nathan

the NZXT Kraken g10? I think that's the name anyway you probably know by now from Linus. :P

The year is 20XX. Everyone plays Fox at TAS levels of perfection. Because of this, the winner of a match depends solely on port priority. The RPS metagame has evolved to ridiculous levels due to it being the only remaining factor to decide matches.

Only Abate, Axe, and Wobbles can save us.
