2 x 2 +(-3) - (3 x 5) = 4 - 3 - 15 = -14

Which part is unclear to you?

x is 2 so 2x is 4 -> clear, I presume

y is -3

Adding a negative number is the same as subtracting positive. So adding a -3 is the same as subtracting 3.

i kinda get it now. what i did is

x2 = 4

4 + -3 = 1

1 + -15 = -14 lol
