That microphone looks truly badass. I'm not really into these gimmicky cheapo gaming headsets though.

How hard do you think it would be to do a mod to some headphones to make it a headset with that kind of microphone arm? Or are there any really nice headsets out there that already use something like that?

That's just old style pilot mic boom design, not really good for gaming, since it has no pop-shield and is right in front of the mouth. Only cheap David Clarks use that kind of boom anymore. The whole point is putting the mic as close to the mouth as possible so it is less likely to pick up background noise. That's not at all needed in a gaming environment, which is why you will not see it used by any real headphone companies.
