Hello i made a post regarding static a while back where a few guys tried to help me. It somehow got fixed at that time and the static was completely gone.

But today when i was using my microphone suddenly the static came back and there was a lot of it. My Pc is connected through a power strip.

The weird part is when i touch my PC Cabinet (Basically grounding myself) the static decreases but only a little, when i touch my psu the static goes away almost completely but theres still a little bit of it.When i lift my feet above instead of keeping them on the floor the static decreases as well. Can someone help me with this?

Could it be that i have static built up in my body?

If yes then why it doesn't go away completely when i ground myself using my PC cabinet or power supply?

I am really clueless and this issue is so random. It goes away when it wants and comes back every now and then.

I will drop a link to old thread.

Also i am using USB Headset which has microphone in it.

This one if it matters at all. https://www.amazon.com/Dragon-G-HS-002-Professional-Gaming-Headset-pc/dp/B00I9KMH3Q/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1512575984&sr=8-2&keywords=Dragon+war+beast

I am using these since a year now and i have never had issues with it until now. I tested the same headset on a laptop and it was fine.

Does it happen in all of your usb ports?(front I/o and motherboard rear I/o) What else do you have plugged into the USB ports/ still there with nothing else plugged in? Could you record a sample of the noise with and without you acting as a ground, Im interested.

Why do you always die right after I fix you?

I tried something out today. I plugged my headset in my sister’s laptop it had no static at all, but when I connected the laptop to charge the static came back to doom me. Basically proving that it’s a grounding issue. Upon further investigation and me trying w/e I know about electric gadgets and stuff I noticed when my Compute desk light , Monitor, and the power strip were off there was no static at all. I tested it out by holding my headset in there general vicinity when it was connected to the laptop (laptop was not connected to the charger so there was no static coming through that). The static was so high that it was catching it even when I held headset like 1 feet above the desk. I started switching off 3 said switches or wall outlets one by one. Each outlet switched off reduced static and when all 3 of them were closed there was no static at all. Also when those outlets were powered, even standing on the ground was filling me up with static.

This is the weirdest encounter I have ever had with microphones and static in them. Also it’s pretty amazing how these small things can affect electronics in such a way!

Also I would like u to confirm if it’s grounding issue at all. Kek I still don’t believe myself.

Edit : Also I will upload a sample as soon as I am on my computer! Which is probably tomorrow. And hey thanks for helping me.
