Hi, I am building my own desk pc build. I am not sure which components are necessary and compatible. I am not sure if I should water cool or air cool it. My budget is about $1500 I can really use a lot of help, Thank you

Alright first some questions.

What are you going to use it for, gaming, streaming, content creation, ...?

Any preference for amd or intel?

Any specific specs you realy want?

Ok.
I've been going for Intel myself now for many years.
But, if i was going too build a new PC today, and i was going too use it for gaming AND content  creation, i would go for AMD:

I would take a look at the different CPU's on market.
And make a list of what you really need.
Do you need alot of PCI-lanes?

What are PCI-lanes?

It's a desktop yes.

I don't know why you need water cooling but remove the Hyper 212 for an AIO i assume and it should work fine to drop the price you could also go for a locked cpu or the i5 8600k?

Components are up too you, dont know what you want.
When it comes too cooling, i would go for watercooling. Aircooling take up alot of space. And the desk needs too be much dfeeper.
And with watercooling you can get that clean look that you want in a Desk PC.
I would take a look at some videos of others that build desk PC's.
LTT has a video on it.

Oh desk means a pc in a desk :P

I misunderstood that well a desk pc is going to be costly and an air cooler will indeed take up alot of space.

You might have to up the budget to $2500 it's very hard to air cool a desk, so water is the way to go. Are you building the desk or buying a new one, because premade desk are usually over $1000.
