Hi all, So my Dad has finally decided to get a new computer, but I talked him into building one for him since I told him it would be cheaper. One concern he has is that he makes a lot of trips to our beach house and the computer he has now is a XPS M2010. It is pretty slow and old now but what he loves about it is how it is very easily transportable. So what I was wondering was what kind of build would be good if he wants to be able to move it easily, and what I was thinking was a mini tower build. However, he still wants to have a fast computer that will be able to run a lot of his old business programs.

Thanks

If you're only considering portability over performance than I'd recommend you the Intel NUC DC3217BY (the Thunderbolt version).

For case suggestions, Bitfenix Prodigy, Silverstone FT03-MINI, Silverstone TJ08-E or one of the Lian Li.

As for motherboard, I'd suggest an Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe.

Firstly i'd say. It all depends on the programs he is using, because there are laptops that maby could handle these programs. However a mini build would be great.

Id opt for something like a Silverstone FT03-Mini but this can be a bit tough, Just be sure to read the manual and everything shoud be fine.

Core i5, A Z77 motherboard and around 8 to 16 gbs of ram would be great. And an average video card of maby a GTX 660ti / HD 7870

I missed an "I", I was talking about the P8Z77-I Deluxe which is meant for overclock the voltage where the P8H77-I is basically the same without the voltage control.
