So I have been trying to install windows 10 all day, and it keeps giving me this "a media driver your computer needs is missing" error right after I press install windows from the USB stick. I have tried everything that other people suggested and none of it has worked. I tried switching the port after getting the error and then trying again, I tried installing on a different USB stick, I tried reinstalling it at least 4 times with the media creation tool and a few with win32 disk imager. I cant think of any drivers that I would need and I was wondering if anyone here might have some idea? I have a ryzen5 1600, gtx 1060, 8gb of ram, an m.2 ssd and a hdd, so what might help fix the issue?

If you have tried using other forms of installation the last thing to do is to take out the drive you want to install windows on and move that into another PC and then install windows onto that, but when it restarts for the first time take the drive out and put it back in your PC. I have done it before and never had any issues.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

That error occurs when Windows doesn't have driver support for your boards USB Controller and as such can't find the install files.

Have you tried the drive in EVERY port? It might be your board has 2 controllers and Windows only likes one of them. Then again Windows might not like any of your controllers.

The other solution is to insert your driver disc, click add driver, browse the disc for USB Drivers and point Windows to the USB driver.

Main Rig:-

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

I have tried switching ports many times, I have tried every port. I don't have a dvd drive on this pc, so im going to copy the contents of the dvd to a usb drive on another pc. I'll tell you how it goes.
