I am making a new gaming pc with an i7-8700K, a GTX 1080 Ti, 16GB of G.Skill TridentZ RGB 3000MHz CAS 15 memory, a 1TB Samsung 850 EVO SSD, and the ASUS ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming motherboard.

I am looking at the NZXT H700i as the case. I just found the Kraken G12 GPU block for AiO coolers. This means that I can cool the CPU with a Kraken X62 at the top, and the GPU with another Kraken X52 atop the Kraken G12 block for the GPU. This GPU cooler will be in the front. I'm not going for a SeaHawk or Hybrid card from MSI or EVGA respectively, just to get the DIY feel.

This would be a tedious process. Anyways I'm going to air cool the VRM, so I'll get a GPU with the water block pre-installed. Another block for the CPU, and my custom soft tube loop will just wait for a pump and a reservoir. This way the white angular bracket on the H700i will not feel empty. I'll go for the white iteration of the case and go for a white coolant. A single 360 rad in the front will be enough.

In both cases, 3 NZXT Aer F (high airflow type) on the top will cool the VRM and the RAM along with the rear fan.

So what do you say - which setup to go for? I have no problem in going for custom loop as I am ready to change the coolant after 12 months.

if you like the work the custom loop while best looking but will be a bit more expensive

ask me about your system builds, AIO's, CPU's, PSU's, and GPU's.

you would need something like this for your build https://www.ekwb.com/custom-loop-configurator/shared/oW5a22de8bef3c7 personally I would swap the fans for these ones https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAADY6J00966&ignorebbr=1 as their just a little bit more expensive but perform better

and I have taken the Zotac 1080ti artic storm for this configuration

ask me about your system builds, AIO's, CPU's, PSU's, and GPU's.

I am taking NZXT AER F120 fans because of compatibility with the included smart hub.

I understand the components in your custom loop but what are the EK-ATX Bridging Plug and the EK-Cable Y-Splitter 3-fan PWM?

Edit: I understood what they are used for.

all fans are compatible with those smart hubs

the bridge plug is a jumper so you can get your pump running to pump the fluid around while you're filling the system. thy y fan splitter is used to connect 3 fans to one header but if you have a hub with enough free connectors you won't need that.

ask me about your system builds, AIO's, CPU's, PSU's, and GPU's.

Well then thanks a lot!

Do you know some high airflow high rpm RGB fans?

Hi!

I just done both. Bloody good fun. Cooled the CPU using EK and had an H55 AIO left over that was on the CPU before, spent £25 on the g12...serious temp improvements on GPU. I couldn't believe my eyes.

That's good but I will not go for a messy (at least messy for me) custom loop + AiO setup. I'll either run both components on different AiO coolers (possibly the Kraken X52 for the GPU and X64 for the CPU) or I'll put both of these on a custom loop.

Yeah man, when i upgrade to a 1080ti i will get an EK block on that and replace the soft tubes with hard ones. Soft tubes go all over the shop, and AIO tubes, well...

If i were you i would go custom loop but if you like it super neat i would advice hard tubing not soft. :)

Hard tubing is costly… but I have no heat gun and prior experience in pc building is zero- forget water cooling

no water cooling is easy every one can do it if you know what you need

ask me about your system builds, AIO's, CPU's, PSU's, and GPU's.
