different ramsticks?

so i recently bought 2x4 gb ram crucial ballistix lt sport 2666mhz. i was wondering if i could put different ramsticks into the other 2 dimm slots, for example g.skill ripjaw 2x8 2400mhz. so it would be 

 

slot1: 4gb 2666mhz crucial

slot2: 8gb 2400mhz g.skill

slot3: 4gb 2666mhz crucial

slot4: 8gb 2400mhz g.skill

 

will this work? i have msi b350 tomahawk. if yes then all ramsticks will run at 2400mhz right?

Worst case scenario is your system wont be able to boot at all but its rarely happen but hey it happen.

Just a question  because I've been wondering about this guys, the worst thing that could happen is that it wont boot at all? Can it break anything? Like the RAM slot or any probs with the BIOS or possibly anything that can lead to big troubles?

hmm, i have 2 4gig sticks, what if i take 2 8 gig versions of the exact same ramstick, so thats 24gb ram. would it work? or does it need to be 4 gig stick aswell?
