Hey there!

I used to love my ie80, but now they are no more :(

Sennheiser doesn't have them anymore (according to their website) and they are a rare sight on ebay.

I am also kinda strapped for cash atm and can't afford the 300 bucks for new Sennheiser inears.

So are there any cheaper options with that "Senneheiser-sound" that is so amazingly consistent in their lineup?

A sturdy cable would be a big plus, as I wear them a lot under sub-ideal conditions.

Any answer would be great!

IE80s are still available (although have been replaced by IE80Ss) -- Amazon (US) has them for $200 (although that's still probably too expensive).

Sennheiser Momentums are supposedly pretty good and <$100 (although they're more bass heavy than IE80s afaik).

So OP is looking to replace high end IEMs that he broke/lost, and your suggestion is a garbage pair of over ear gaming headphones (with a mic).....

Should have specified, I reside in amazon.de land, and there it is only sold by 1 marketplace re-seller with the somewhat scetchy name of DISCONET

i am saying the ie80s are bass heavy and you said you don't want anything with heavy bass.

Ah, ok! Well, not quite flat, but not as "bad" as many other headphones. I quite like the Sennheiser sound, love my 600s and my 558s

How much are you willing to spend on a new pair? I think the ie80s are on sale for under $300

Well they are good in ears so anything else could potentially feel like a downgrade. You might like the Etymotic hf3 I never tried them but people say they are somewhat bass light especially when compared to the ie80

Looking at their design I can already tell, that they will fall out all the time :/

BTW thank you for your suggestions!

Do you know if the CX 300-II are decent? I've heard a few good thinks about them

Or the Momentums?

Or the various Sony MDR-XBs?
