Reset switch as controller?

Hi,

 

Does anyone know how, if possible, to connect my reset switch to be an RGB controller? I don't need any fancy effects, just to switch between solid colors.

I have Thermaltake Riings RGB inside a Define Mini C.

You could do it but it would involve reconnecting an existing rgb controller and rewiring a button. So its likely more trouble than its worth you technically could though.

It would be easier to buy a button drill a hole in your case and wire it than what your trying to do

Yeah it will be easy provided you have access to a soldering iron. Not sure exactly how to connect it as I don't own your specific controller. Send me some pics and I'll give you a hand.

Why? Doing that you have to solder wires onto the switch and drill a hole in your case. Both of these tasks are already done with the reset switch. Using the reset switch is fine, just make sure you don't want/need the reset switch.

You're wrong. Plain wrong. It's just a normally open SPST switch with a 2.54mm pitch 2 pole header socket soldered onto it. It could be used to control anything.

If there's a button that does that on the lighting controller then it's perfectly possible. Since it sounds like very common functionality for a rgb controller,  I would be very surprised if there was not a dedicated button for it.
