I got my new M.2 NVME SSD in the mail today, installed it and got this error when  booting "0xc000000e". After a little while it started saying no OS was found on my system when booting. I tried to fix that in CMD, when typing this command "bootrec /fixboot" I get "access is denied" every time. I don't know how to fix this and I don't really want to reinstall Windows. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Windows 10 64 bit

That CMD error could be caused due to administration limitations. Run in safe mode with CMD enabled and run CMD as administrator

How would I boot into safe mode? I'm also now getting this error.

File: \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD

Error code: 0xc000000f

Earlier today after I installed my new M.2 NVME SSD Windows failed to boot. I took the SSD out but the problem still persisted. First I got this error on a blue screen "0xc000000e" (M.2 SSD was still installed). After that first error I took the M.2 SSD out of my PC. Then I fiddled around and managed to get to a black screen that says "BOOTMGR is missing". From there I tried to looked up a bunch of fixes. From what I can tell, I need to boot from a USB/disk with Windows 10 on it so that I can repair it using CMD. There are a few command lines that have been said to bed fixes for this problem. They are as follows.

bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /rebuildbcd

They all return a positive message, except "bootrec /fixboot", the message that it returns is "Access is denied". I have a feeling that if I can get this one message to return a positive result, I can fix this entire issue all together. The thing is, I can find anything on how to fix the "Access is denied" response.. If anyone can help me figure this out, I would appreciate it immensely.

How was the M.2 installed?  As the boot drive or as a slave?  If meant to be the boot drive, did you remove all the other drives before installing Windows so that it would see the M.2 as the boot?

The drive was installed as an alternate drive for editing video on.

Off the top of my head I'm thinking that Windows is seeing the M.2 as a boot device but was installed as a slave.  If that's the way it is, it will try to boot from the M.2 even though it doesn't have the boot files.  Check your boot device order in the BIOS and check which devices are in which order.  If the M.2 is a slave, make sure it is not the first device in the boot order.

I actually removed the M.2 earlier. I've checked the boot priority list and I do have the correct drive selected.

Okie-dokie.  Lemme see if I got this right then.  Without the M.2 installed, everything works great.  Install the M.2 and the machine doesn't work.  Is that correct?  If that is correct, then another thought.  When you install the M.2, everything works fine until you go to use it (the M.2).  Then when you try to use it, that is when you get the errors.  How am I doing so far?

If what I describe above is correct, have you tried installing something like the AOMEI Partition Assistant (it's FREE) to set up the M.2 with the proper partition and format?  I use it because it works great and it's FREE.

No. The problem persists whether or not the M.2 is installed. I just mentioned the M.2 because the issue occurred right after I installed it.

unplug all drives except the m.2 and boot to a flash drive with a windows installer on it, then install windows on the m.2

once its done, shutdown and plug your other drives back in.

should work fine.

Thing is, I don't want Windows on the M.2. That drive is only supposed to be used for editing video. I guess I could try unplugging every drive other than the one Windows should be on and try to repair/install Windows.

Seems as though you need to do a clean install of Windows and seeing as how you have the M.2 drive I would use that as my boot drive.  Best thing would be to just follow what Tsuki said above.  Unplug all the drives with the exception of the M.2, use the Windows Media Creation Tool and install Windows on to the M.2.  Then you can hook up your other drives.  Understand that you will need to reinstall all your software.  And don't forget to backup your documents, pics, etc., before undertaking this task just to be safe.
