Hdr and advanced colors look Terrible

Jayar2020

I recently got a 4k hdr tv to ise with my gaming PC, windows 10 has an option for hdr and advanced colors that when I turn it on makes everything look horribly washed and painful to look at, all drivers are up to date but I'm not sure what to do.

Well, the source needs to support HDR as well, I seem to remember Linus complaining about the same stuff when on the desktop and not in a game that supported HDR.

But that's the thing I don't mind her not being on all the time but thing is it looks horrible when it is on so what's the deal you know.

Had this issue myself with a Sony KD-65A1 and a GTX970. Went to Nvidia Control Panel and Adjust Desktop Colour Settings. First thing to do is turn the Hue to 0, you should see a marked difference. I then checked Use Nvidia settings and using various images on a split desktop, tweaked the sliders until I was happy. For me this has worked a charm, hope this helps.
