HyperX Cloud II build quality

I found this review on newegg:

"I've had 3 cloud 2's. 2 I bought, and 1 was a replacement. (as it was under the 1 year warranty period.) As good as they sound and as comfortable as they are, if they don't last I'm not going to be buying that product again. The first pair I had I wasn't as careful with them and they lasted just under a year, I didn't have a receipt so understandingly they wouldn't honor the warranty. Bought the second pair, but this time I made sure to save the receipt just in case if I had issues with them again. Sure enough it lasted about 8 months and went through the warranty process which was a breeze as they even paid for the shipping to and back for a new pair. The third one lasted just over a year. So the issue I had is that the wires they use in the cloud 2's aren't very durable. They are too thin. What i think is that the twisting and bending of the wire when taking off and putting it on your head, causes the wire to twist/bend and eventually break, so one of the speakers won't work... They clearly know about this issue, as I think this is the reason why the new Hyper X Cloud Alpha has the usb wire as a "plug in" just like the mic. If you look at the reviews of the cloud 2's a lot of people have had this issue. Will be looking for another pair from another company."

Also found some of the similar user reviews. Is it better to buy Cloud Alpha or something else? Cloud 2 are on Amazon right now on discount, only 59€....
