Pixel 2 XL with $200 gift card... To buy or not to buy?

Actually, never mind. I've thought of a better solution that gets the best of both worlds.

So I've been hunting around and I found a deal at Target that gives you a $200 gift card if you buy a Pixel 2 XL and activate it at Verizon.

 

Currently I'm on Tmobile but if I shuffle some stuff around I should be able to get the 5gb $40/month plan and my whole family's bill will still be about the same while getting more data.

 

So that's basically a Pixel 2 XL for $200 off. But there's one thing that worries me, which is that if I buy it through target it looks like my bootloader won't be unlockable. Seeing as I plan on keeping this phone from 3-4 years I might want an unlocked bootloader in case I want to flash a custom ROM once I stop getting updates. So my question is, should I go for this deal and get $200 off but basically end up not being able to unlock the bootloader, or wait until Cyber Monday and see if anything pops up (which probably won't) and maybe end up paying full price but getting an unlocked bootloader?

 

Side note, unless you find a really good deal on something else I probably won't change my mind on the Pixel. I want Android but I want it stock and clean with on time software updates and it doesn't look like anything else is going to give me that. Though if there is an iPhone X deal for $750 and under I may consider it.
