Just use a USB, it's easier. Plug it in and follow instructions to install on to the HDD.

That doesn't work. You need to boot from one drive and install to another. You can't even select drive you booted into when asked. I'm not sure if you could partition drive and do it that way. But overall it's easier to just get cheap 8gb USB drive and make that bootable installer.

Since installing formats a hard drive, it would be impossible to format your install drive and install onto it at the same time, and as a result this is not even an option. Your local supermarket or media store will have 8GB usbs for next to nothing, you don't even need USB 3.0, 2.0 is fine.
