Back in my early days of PC gaming and custom builds, I once had a system built by Cyberpower PC and was based on an AMD platform. It was powered by a Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition CPU and was cooled by a XSPC custom loop. This was my actual first true custom PC and it was the nuts back then!

However, after the completion of Project A.Y.U in 2015, the pump in the old AMD system failed, causing the 1100T the overheat. It was dead...

But now...for 2018...AMD is back.

Welcome the Project Red Reboot!

So this new build is going to (hopefully) be a 4k gaming powerhouse, based on AMD's Ryzen platform. I would do a parts list, like I did before with A.Y.U, but this time round I'll just show each component as I get them (and honestly, it was a pain in the a**e to edit the first post every time a new part arrived). Also last time, I got parts from several different suppliers, but this time I'll be ordering everything, unless otherwise stated, from Overclockers UK.

Here's the first lot of components to wet one's PCMR appetite. The Asus ROG Crosshair VI Hero and the AMD Ryzen 1800X

I do hope you all enjoy this revival journey with me.
