Hello Guys. I have a big problem with a PC and desperately need your help, as I can't seem to get this working again.

I built a computer for a friend which worked for some time but then just started getting bluescreens and was not able able to boot anymore.

After trying several things I decided I just wanted to reinstall Windows.

BUT Starting from a USB Stick which has a fresh download of Windows 10 on it from Microsofts MediaCreationTool gets me a bluescreen, too.

I then unplugged all drives, the graphics card, and everything else but a wired Microsoft Keyboard, a USB 2.0 Stick with Windows on it (both in USB 2.0 Port) and a Monitor.

I also updated the Bios to the latest version and and did a full reset (CMOS Battery)

Bluescreens still appear when trying to start the Windows Installation from the USB drive.

The Error messages range from ACPI BIOS ERROR over CRITICAL PROCESS DIED to NTFS FILE SYSTEM

Components of the Computer

  • MSI Z270 PC Mate
  • i7 7700k
  • GTX 1080 Ti
  • Samsung 850 Evo
  • Single 8GB DDR4 2133 RAM Stick (Tried with XMP Off and On)
  • Seasonic Focus Plus 650W

Other interesting things

  • Sometimes the PC just lights up for a very short time after I switch the PSU Off and then does not turn on again with the power switch, even after plugging in and out the PSU and putting the switch on and off. It has to rest some time without the power cable connected to it and without the CMOS Battery
  • Even though Windows is completely done on this computer I can easily boot a live Linux OS (but Gparted did only work in failsafe mode)

I am now at the end of my thoughts and don't know how to continue. If anyone of you has another Idea, please let me know.

Thanks a lot in advance!
