I got this from the wiki page before building my new system.

I was not sure which of the i9 CPUs to pick. Due to my lack of knowledge my interpretation of the 7900x data was that if all 10 cores were utilized, then 2 cores will run at @ 4.3, 2 cores will run @ 4.1, and the last six will run @ 4.0! Then after building the system I discovered that I was totally wrong and that if all 10 cores were active then they will all run @ 4.0. Then this might suggests that if only 4 cores were active then they will be @ 4.1, and if only 2 were active then they will be @ 4.3. And if 1 core was active then maybe it will run @ 4.5?!

 

If all that was correct, does this mean that utilizing all the 7980 XE cores will result in 3.4 frequency?! This one is really low don't you think?

 

I don't use my system for games, I am mainly encoding in Handbrake...I might one day play some games, but I use the console mostly...

More cores = better encoding speed

I would recommend the threadripper 1950x rather than the 7900x

I am not asking about the 1950x, I am only asking about the frequency of the 7980 XE if all cores were active...
