How can I fix this problem

Where on the motherboard did you slot them.  Normal practice is to put "1"0"1"0"  or "0"1"0"1"  with the 1 being the inserted RAM and 0 being open ram slot.

 

Sounds like you may have place them "1"1"0"0" or "0"0"1"1"

 

If you need a better answer, motherboard, and bios version would help.
