Looking for a Student Display

So I will most likely be leaving the house next year I would would preferably like to bring my Xbox and Pc Tower along with me. Due to this I am looking for a new Display that can be able to use both Systems. 

(Xbox one requires a HDMI Same with the computer)

 

The requirements would be simple:

 

Not too large so anything under 30"
Has built in speakers
Smart functionality is option
And under £250 (GBP)
Fast refresh rate.

 

Any Recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

What resolution? 1080p? 1440p?

 

Do you use your PC for gaming? If so, which graphics card do you have?

looks like he is going for 1440p because a 30" 1080p looks kinda weird (16:9 that is)

I think its a Radeon R5 600 not 100% sure what my card is friend sent it my why when the last one crapped out.

 

And yes gaming plus 1080p 

i'm saying lower than 30" because I don't like large display when gaming (too much to scan)

The reason I ask is to check that your graphics card can actually push 1080p at higher than 60fps. You may want to check.

 

Since you have an AMD, then you'd want a monitor that has FreeSync.

What about the LG 24GM79G, as reviewed here. It can be bought for ~£180 from Laptops Direct.

 

It lists the refresh rate at 50-60Hz, but then states this lower down in the tech specs: V-Sync Rate at Max Res.144Hz. I don't know exactly what that means.

 

It also has FreeSync, which with an AMD graphics card, will help reduce/remove any screen tearing.

They have a white version for 20~ USD cheaper. But in British money that’s bound to be cheaper. (If actual exchange is taken into account, and it’s not number matched in a stronger currency.)
