So everyone playing on the new test server for PUBG, got a pretty decent amount of performance boost. Sadly I didnt, i have i5-4690k 4.4ghz, 16gb hyperx ddr3 ram and a gtx 980 with aio.

My friend has the same cpu, but no OC, he has 12gb ram and a gtx 970 and he gets 25% more fps in the game, if like i have 100fps, he gets 125fps or more.

Is there anyone here who knows why this is happening ?

Also, while i was playing i checked MSI afterburner, my clock speed is set on 1454, and its stable while playing csgo or overwatch. But when i was playing PUBG test servers, the clock speed fluctuated, it was 1450 and so on.

You can't talk about performance in a alpha phase game, PUBG is buggy. A lot.

The only thing you can do is comparing your "normal" average FPS to the "test server" average FPS.

The new patch on the test also forced shadows to be on, which can impact performance.

For myself I can say I did not have a real boost on maximum performance, but I did not experience a few problems I have on the normal version of the game (FPS drops and spikes). So I had a much better consistency in framerates.

That is true, but like i said, my friend has almost the exact same rig as me, and he get way better fps. So that is strange imo. Iknow its an alpha game, but still. Everyone is saying the got this huge fps and performance boost with the new update. But not me.

You can check these things:

Is this problem only related to PUBG? If yes, so if on all other games your PC is faster, then you should check these other things:

Is the game on a SSD/HDD? Are you drives identical?

Are both of you GPU drivers up to date and are they the same version?

Are all configurations the same? Do you use ReShade or something similiar?

Have you tested the average using a software and being on the same map, same setting, same match doing the same things? Is the resolution the same?

Then report your experience as a performance issue on the PUBG forum, so that the devs will collect informations.
