Just a quick question, apart from latency is there any reason I can't use a 3 foot USB 3.1 cable for powered PCIe Risers?

 

Does anyone know, have you tried?

I'm planning on mounting the extra 2-3 GPUs in another computer case with its own power supply to power it. I can just rig the green and black 24pin to the switch on the case I think.
