Front and back panel audio not working.

Ever since using a display port (DP 1.4 I think it's called)  on my gtx 1070. audio just refuses to work via realtek HD Audio and something called Ac97 on my Asus Sabertooth X79 mobo, Driver wiping and reinstall did nothing, etc.

Weird thing is, front panel worked when I were using a old Geforce 210 when my monitor were connected via VGA.

 

Is there something I'm missing, graphics cards drivers have been reinstalled and such too, but something just doesn't add up, any suggestions?
