with the steam and uplay overlay you can enable a fps counter,if you want more detailed information you can install afterburner,it comes bundled with rtss for overlaying performance stats like fps/frametimes/temperature/power limit etc

You want to test if your i5 can handle games for 5 more years?

It's easier to find online benchmarks, 6600K with 1080Ti has a lot of data out there.

Spoiler alert: 4core/4threads won't get you the best experience but not a bad one either, toggle a few CPU intensive options and you're good.

Before jumping on ryzen, would make more sense to get your priorities straight. Gaming and productivity don't get along.

Productivity oriented build = Ryzen (price/performance king).

Gaming oriented build = Intel 8600K or 8700K + OC (FPS king).

Want to burn money carelessly?

x299 platform, best you can buy (mind temperatures). Best of both worlds, Wallet-nightmare.

i had ryzen in mind purely due to cost i know the intel range delivers loads of preformace. ive read and seen alot of benchmarks online for stuff but every one builds diffrent and no one system is the same so many people have gone for the i7 range but it was cost again and i dont really use the pc for video edit and other high muiltycore task's

thanks guys ill get msi installed and fraps installed today i just want to get 60+ or at least 50 as i game on a 4k tv so i know some stuff cannot be avoided ie screen tearing.
