What storage should I get?

2x Western Digital 2tb black

2x Samsung 850 evo 1tb

What are you using the storage for? 

How much soace do you need? 

Does speed matter? 

 

For example i wanted a raid for simplicity and redundancy. Except raid makes you buy identical drives. If i wanted a 960 evo, i have to buy a second just to mirror and thats expensive. Settled on 4x4TB HDDs for size and cost. Oh boy that was the worst mistake ever. 

 

I just bouggt some 1TB 960 EVO and settled on a hybrid solution. Use SSDs and manually back up with HDDs. Ya its not elegant but its cheaper. I also dont have to listen to HDDs all the time. Nor do my case have any room for HDDs. And when new drive tech comes out, i dont have to buy like 4 brand new drives all at once. I just throw an HDD on a dock and backup.
