If you have a freesync monitor yes... if not then they are very close performance wise. Just go with which ever you prefer.

Both are solid cards and both really depend on what games you are playing. HOWEVER, if you have yet to purchase a monitor, the RX580 may be better as it will work with FreeSync. Freesync monitors are MUCH cheaper than their Gsync counterparts and will give you a more smooth gaming/user experience.
