Long time lurker, first time poster but I have a question that can not be answered by anyone but fellow linustechtips friends. I have a D5 Vario pump that came with the 5.25 res attached. I have a molex and 3 pin power cables coming out of the pump. The molex has only 2 cables (1 yellow at the far left side and 1 black next to it).

Here is my problem:

Water flows at the wrong direction, meaning water comes into the res from the hole at the bottom and comes out from the hole at the top. No, I am not talking about the fill port, I am using the right holes but the direction is messed up. Is there a chance the pump is wired wrong inside making the pump to run in the wrong direction? Can I switch the yellow and black cables at the molex to change the direction of the water flow? At this current condition, water pressure is not anywhere it could be since instead of the bottom hole, pump is trying to push the water through the top.

Thanks in advance

I would not attempt such a thing like that. If you switch the wires then plug it in, it may just damage the pump. Strange to hear such a case like that, as it is extremely rare. Could've been a mistake in manufacturing.

centrifugal pumps only really work in one direction.  Question what bayres combo is it? make model. and where did you get it?  if your pump really is spinning the wrong way and you cant RMA it, I would reverse the contacts to see what happens.
