Soldering help

So I'm trying to repair my ATH-M40x headphones and the first cup i soldered (left) soldered on and worked fine. Second cup i tried to solder multiple times, no bueno. Mind you this is my first time soldering so be gentle.

Custom CPU Loop (watercooling is boring to me right now so I want to go back to air cooling and do like one more WC Loop in a Inwin 301)

I7 2600k oc'd to 4.7 @ 1.4ish (will do more when I get a better cooler)

Are you asking how to solder better?  imo it might be better for you to youtube How to videos, rather then get a text walk through.

When I was doing soldering in class 5 years ago, it was trial and error for me.

I more of just asking for trouble shooting advice.

see if you bridged the connections while soldering... using too much solder... get a multimeter and check the connectivity from plug up to the cable you soldered...

 

hard to explain... youtube really may help better than typed stuff.

red is blue, plus is minus, ICs always pins down, and pickup a soldering iron where it is cold...

 

yes he really said that over and over =) he was a really mean techy... fixing nearly anything that was fixable.

I once soldered and fixed a computers mainboard with a 350 watts soldering pistol because there was nothing else at hand that time... 

 

As long as you know what you do... I may thing even a nail, some pliers to hold it and a hot flame will do...

That's an issue regarding many tools... there is cheap, good priced, and expensive... as soon as you buy cheap, you usually pay it 3 times because it breaks... I try to go with well priced or expensive in regard of what use.

Make sure you apply solder to the wires first. Then put the wire on the terminal and reheat for a quick and clean connection without a big blob of solder.
