Does a game like this exist?

Back in the day the Company that makes Runescape made a spin-off title named Armies of Gielinor on a website called Fun Orb. Nearly all Development was canceled nearly 3/4 of a decade ago in 2010.

 

The game Armies of Gielinor though was a lot of fun to play and it's pretty much dead now, but I was wondering if there was a similar turn-based experience to be found in a game somewhere.

 

It had a really nice campaign as well as various multi-player options. Basically what you do is use your portal to summon units onto the playing field. The barbarian unit is used to capture structures on the map and the more structures you can bring under your control the more Mana income you generate each turn for summoning new units through your portal. You win by either eliminating all enemy portals or reaching the required score (IIRC is measured by the Mana income)

I'd like to figure out if there's any games out there like this one, but I've had no luck so far.

Battle for Wesnoth might be similar enough. I played a fair amount.

Pretty much Battle of Wesnoth (free) or whole Heroes of Might and Magic saga. And other that style of games.
