Recommendations for my speaker

So I've had a Bose Soundlink Mini 2 for a while, and I decided to use it as a soundbar as soon as I got my new PC finished. My room is small enough that at 16% volume on the PC and 100% volume on the speaker, it's already loud.

I was wondering if anyone can recommend any EQ settings for specific uses like Music, Games and Movies. Also, I could use advice on a good equalizer or audio tuning app (I find the standard Realtek suite that came with the motherboard unsatisfying)

Do 100% on the PC and adjust the sound bar for you are putting a lot of unnecessary wattage through the speaker.

Hmmm I always heard that things sounded best when you had the speaker volume higher than the source volume - is that right? Or was I misinformed?

I used to do that. But after hearing otherwise. Keep windows volume 85-100% and adjust the volume on your AMP as needed. I keep my windows volume around 85-100% due to the fact my keyboard has a physical volume wheel which is much easier for small sound tweaks up or down.

Oh that's good to know, thanks!
