Hey guys, which of these build is better for gaming? I will be overclocking either processor and adding another 7850 OC Edition in the future (ignore the memory in both and the power supply in the intel build).

The second one, but i would advise getting a 7200rpm HDD, especially with no SSD

The second is better because you really shouldn't leave the 8350 with the stock cooler.

I wouldn't recommend either though.

Yeah this is an extremely knocked up build basically just asking what would be better 8350 or i5?

Depends what you're doing. They outperform each other in difference scenarios.

It's like asking whether a screwdriver or shovel is better.

Heavy gaming and occasionally some light editing, the £50 difference does not matter in the slightest

Any examples of the games? Are there any single thread heavy games like Planetside 2?

League of Legends

Planetside 2

Battlefield 4

Bioshock Infinite

A few Crysis games

Heavily modded Skyrim

Basically I'll play a fair variety of lots of different games

In that case, I'd go 4670k for the better single threaded performance. The system could be better if it's for gaming though.

Why did you say to ignore the memory and psu?

Placeholders for the memory as the one I want isnt on pcpartpicker, and becuase with two 7850's overclocked and an i5 overclocked a 750w wouldnt be neccesary whereas I have been advised before about having a PSU in this range for the AMD version of the build.

Could you see what you could build for £550 or less with an 8350 with a mobo that has SATA 6GBps and crossfire capability please? Bearing in mind I'll be overclocking GPUs and CPUs

Don't you think I'll need it? Some people (stupid people) are already saying that the 7850 2GB OC Edition is already a dated card (I already have one in my current build) so if I add another one it'll give me a small boost (they're real cheap to buy now I bought mine for £100, by the time I want to buy another theyll be even less).

I have a 7850 in my current build but I'm selling my build but taking my GPU out.

Anything else you already have?

120GB Crucial M500 SSD and a 3TB Toshiba HDD, didnt include them on either build.

In that case, recommended edits: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/2gs6B

You can cf if you want to but I'd save up for a better single card when you actually need it.
