File explorer not working

for example if i want to open some sort of file or something it just doesn't open the file explorer tab where i can look through my files, or if i press the windows home file explorer side tab it doesn't open, or if i try to use a shortcut etc... But if i try to send files to discord it opens up the explorer

How long have you been having this problem?

Which version are you using?

Was it after any kind of update?

the version is 1607 and it wasn't really after an update it just randomly stopped popping up, and i've been having this for about a few weeks but it usually just fixes itself randomly but it's annoying and i want to know a way to fix it
