I have a search engine that has installed itself in Chrome called chromesearch.today that is impossible to remove. I have tried getting rid of every single Chrome-related file, as well as the registry key for it using Malware Bytes, yet it is still there. I have checked the Chrome shortcut target, which is default, so no issue there. Have googled possible solutions and nothing so far has worked. I have little experience removing these sorts of things, and would really appreciate some help.
Thanks

I currently have the exact same problem as the thread starter described. It started about 2-3 hours ago, when I must've downloaded something and it changed my Google Chrome. Through searching on the internet I've found the topic you linked @WereCatf, but after following all the steps I'm still were I started.

Additionally to that, it also changed my "New Tab" page. Instead of my 8 most visited pages, it shows some pre-defined sites.

See the spoiler for how it looks:

When clicking the images to go to the sites, it goes to this, before redirecting to the actual site:

Any help in fixing this would be greatly appreciated, as the only thing I could think of would be to completely reinstall windows, which would suck :/
