So I am overclocking yesterday's flagship. The GTX+ 9800 512mb and I was wondering does anyone still remember any settings that I can just punch in to overclock my card?

9800 GTX+.....ohhh those days...Radeon HD 4850 vs 9800GTX+ days :)

If you are just plugging in random values and hoping they will work....you are doing it wrong.

In fact, if you do it to any of the newer CPU or GPUs...probably not going to work. No two chips are 100% identical.

Somebody...say...Todd's 9800GTX+ can get 900MHz/1200MHz....while Bob Doe's 9800GTX+ can only get 850MHz/1150MHz...then poor Stan here only get 810MHz/1100MHz (not too much from stock).

But....from what I recall, around 800MHz on the core and 1200MHz on the memory was pretty much guaranteed. Not too sure about the Shader clock, though.

thanks for the advice, I know that every card is different but there are certain minor overclocks that are guaranteed

Ok, guys so I got her up to 800 core and 1100 mem stable in afterburner. I got 15 extra fps and extended the usefulness of this card for the rest of my crap gpu challenge.

Push it even MOAR!!

Try adjusting the Shader clock now :P

Anyways, I've seen quite a bit with 820 / 830 / 850MHz on the Core...and 1200 / 1220 - 1250MHz on the Memory.
