Desktop turns on after turning on my laptop

Okay, uh... I don't really know how to explain this. I know this sounds a bit crazy and odd, but basically:

 

My main desktop system automatically turns on whenever I turn on my laptop (both laptop and desktop are used in the same room).

I don't know why it is doing this, I can only speculate that it might be some sort of frequency that the motherboard catches and sends voltage to the system to turn itself on or something? 

It's super annoying I turn on my laptop from across the room, in my bed and then the system turns on; so I would have to get up and physically push the power button for it to turn off.

 

It only does this during me powering on my laptop.

 

My laptop is: Republic of Gamers - GL502V

 

Does anyone else know how to prevent this from happening? 

...and no, my motherboard is not wireless with any remote-start capabilities.

Turn off WoL (Wake-on-LAN) in your BIOS and in windows.

My main PC (Hybrid Windows 10/Arch Linux):

OS: Arch Linux w/ XFCE DE (VFIO-Patched Kernel) as host OS, windows 10 as guest

CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X w/PBO on (6c 12t for host, 6c 12t for guest)

Details: 12GB ram, GTX 1080, USB card passed through to windows 10 VM. VM's OS drive is the SATA SSD. Rest of resources are for Plex, Duplicati, Spaghettidetective, Nextcloud, and game servers.

Your laptop is sending a magic packet to wake up your desktop.

Turn off wake on lan in bios.

It's not a race to the bottom.

Probably wol(wake-on-lan) is turned on like others said.

If you want to test this. 

- disconnect desktop from network. 

- turn on laptop 

- if desktop still turns on call an exorcist
