Hello!
Tech City has inspired me to upgrade my old pc. I didn't think I could do anything before I watched Tech City since my budget is only about 100AUD! :o
Pubg isn't running all that well and I'm thinking its the CPU's fault. I'm looking at a X3470 Zeon from aliexpress, the X3470 will run fine in my Q57 motherboard? I'm thinking my 240w PSU is sketchy enough already so ill need a new one, and probably case too since it's not a standard size. MSY Australia has a few budget case/PSU combos, Shall I get one of them? or does anyone knows a better option?
Oh and can i overclock a X3470 on a Q57 motherboard?

Hi there Grovers! :)

Well first I'll tell you my experience with Pubg.

And it's that this game is not well optimized at all. I myself have a GTX 1080 and the game runs poorly compare to a much more demanding games in the same range.

So... And I'm sorry to tell like this but... I honestly don't think that with a GTX 1050 your'e gonna experience major improvements adding a 100$ CPU to the package.

I can also tell you for example this other experiment I realized:

I have an i7 7700K (K means that can be overclocked) which is a pretty good processor in add to the 1080.

And I made tests with some games with the CPU overclocked and base clocked... Results? Same FPS, if not less sometimes :)

Reality is that gaming profits almost all of it from the GPU. So if you have a 1080 with a poor i3 then you'll experience bottle necking. But with an actual budget card and a budget cpu... No, you're just gonna throw 100 bucks.

My advice is that if you want to see some real improvement you save money for a 1060 for example. Then you'll see the improvement you want ;)

If found you can actually get 60fps with budget hardware, this pc can push 35fps on low settings but I think that's just because of the CPU.

Getting high fps like 100+ is not easy on most systems for some reason. Some more optimizations are going to have to be made first.

Which budget hardware are you talking about. And most important. Is this "hardware" you're seeing in a friends house or in a YouTube channel? Don't really believe anything you see in YouTube about "I have this rig moving this game" :)xD

And as I said before... Honestly, I don't think you can push 25FPS just changing the cpu. Thats almost a 100% performance improvement.... That's just crazy. A new CPU is gonna give you 5fps at the most. Being lucky.

Plus we are not talking about a 300$ cpu, is a 100 buck cpu... yeh, 5fps is the number :(
