Decent Old DX11 GPU

My friend is putting together a PC of older parts (core 2 duo and lga 775 motherboard) and wants to get a cheap graphics card that can play games at 720p (or below).  I told him to get something like a 6850 from ebay, but can he get away with something a little cheaper? Thanks for the help.

6850 is good, since its only 720p a 5770 should be just fine if thats what ur looking for

at 720p the 5750 would be good enough so if its cheaper than go for that. I have a C2D and a 5750 and im finding my processor to be a bottleneck in newer games.

GTX 480, even though it is not very efficient, it is an extremely strong ard for it's age, and can now be found cheap if you look around, only other i would say is a 6950.
