So, I noticed today that my dGPU wasn't being detected so I opened my notebook to check everything and changed the thermal paste and when I restarted, it showed up, but after a couple game tests, while I was browsing, I got a "Driver Power State Failure" BSOD and when it restarted, it didn't show up again. Then after a few restarts, I got that BSOD again and I removed the battery while it was restarting to check if it could be the cause and the GPU showed up, but when I tried to reinstall the driver, after the restart during the installation, it failed and the GPU wasn't showing up once again.

So, what's happening? The GPU keeps coming and going and I started having this BSOD.

It's a Samsung RF511-SD6 on W10 x64.

Note that recently I lost my temper with it and slammed it a few times and broke the keyboard but apparently nothing else. I'm pretty sure the GPU was working after that, because I played a game that my iGPU wouldn't handle as well and the performance seemed normal. Although after this I opened everything in my notebook a few times to try and fix the keyboard, without success, and I might've caused this issue in the process.

So, any ideas?

Yeah, sounds a bit like a dying or close to death dGPU.

i'd have suggested to give the thing a thourough maintenance.. but i feel like you're not the right person for that..

those laptops have a tendency to fall apart very slowly, i have a similar one that used to have intermittent dGPU issues, which went away quite literally after "tightening all screws again"

I do the maintenance to keep it clean and working and change the thermal paste at the very least once every 6-10 months.

"I'm not the right person to maintain my PC" because I lost my temper once after years of lags and issues, yeah, sure.

If that's your suggestion, consider it done, but no results.
