Downsides to Buying a Used Graphics Card?

I've been looking on Ebay and Craigslist, and I've found some decent priced graphics cards within budget, but sometimes the prices are a bit too good to be true (980 for 125$). What are the downsides to buying a used graphics card?

The good thing about going through eBay though is if you get a fake or something you'll get your money back.

One thing is with all the crypto-currency mining I'm nervous about getting a card that's been used for that, because that's what a lot of people are doing.
